
Mr. Freeman, CEO of Glenwood Student Communities, has served as President of Glenwood Intermountain Properties, Inc., since its founding in July 1987. Prior to founding Glenwood Intermountain Properties, Mr. Freeman was the National Director of Lending for Equitec Financial Group, a publicly traded finance and real estate company headquartered in Oakland, California.
Mr. Freeman started his career in real estate while pursuing his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University. He began work as Property Manager of Pineview Apartments, a 1,152 bed, single-student housing complex adjacent to Brigham Young University. After graduating from BYU in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, he began working for Equitec Financial Group. Mr. Freeman began in the Commercial Real Estate Loan Origination department in Oakland, California as a Loan Analyst. Later, Mr. Freeman was promoted to the Director of Lending position located in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Freeman left Equitec in 1986 as the National Director of Lending.
In 1986, Mr. Freeman was contacted by the owners of Pineview Apartments and was given the opportunity to buy the property. He purchased Pineview Apartments, currently known as Glenwood Apartments, in partnership with Glenwood Financial Group, and founded Glenwood Intermountain Properties, Inc. In December 1987, Mr. Freeman and his partners acquired Riviera Apartments, a 644-bed student housing complex, located in Provo, Utah, and in September 1990, they acquired Raintree Apartments in Provo, Utah, a 924-bed student housing complex. In 1992, Mr. Freeman and his partners developed Cambridge Court Apartments, a 160-unit garden style apartment complex in Provo, Utah. In 1998, Mr. Freeman and his partners acquired the University Villa Apartments, a 575-bed student housing complex, in Provo, Utah. Riviera and University Villa Apartments were sold in 2005. Glenwood Intermountain Properties, Inc. currently manages Glenwood and Raintree apartments, two of the largest single student housing complexes in Provo, Utah and Cambridge Court, a multi-family apartment complex.
